Module 1. Install Windows 2000
This module explains the functions of an Operating System. Then it looks at the pc Operating System history and it dicusses current Operating Systems. We prepare for and install Windows 2000 Server. We look at tools and tips to troubleshoot the Installation and finish by explaining the possibilities for upgrading older Windows versions.

Module 2. File Server
This module explains how to setup a Windows 2000 file server. Topics include Shared Folders, permissions on shared folders, standalone DFS and Domain DFS.

Module 3. Print Server
This module explains how to setup a Windows 2000 print server. Topics include
the printer driver, spooling and printing. We explain how to setup different
clients to connect to the printer. IPP is also explained and practiced. On request,
students can setup seperator pages, a printing
pool, nightshift printers or priority printers.

Module 4. Web Server
The module explains how to setup Windows 2000 as a Web Server. Topics include the default IIS services activited during install, creating websites and ftp sites, a simple smtp server and news server.

Module 5. DHCP Server
This module explains how to setup DHCP servers in your organization. Topics include all the technical aspects of DHCP and some planning strategies.

Module 6. DNS Server
This module explains the Domain Naming System standard for Name Resolution. Students will understand basic concepts like zones, zone transfer, resource records and the DNS Namespace. Nslookup is used as a DNS troubleshooting tool.

Module 7. WINS Server
This module will focus first on the NetBIOS standards for Name Resolution so students can identify the need for a WINS server. We then setup WINS servers, explore push/pull replication and tombstoning.

Module 8. Terminal Services
This module explains how to setup a Terminal Services Server. We discuss the licensing issues and the client setups. Students will use remote administration mode and application server mode.

This module explains how to configure windows 2000 as a VPN server, including authentication with Radius, router setup and RAS protocols.

This module explains security features like IPSec, Certificate Services and Security Templates. We also setup Auditing for File Servers, Print Servers and more.
