DESCRIPTION
This course teaches the student the commands and configurations needed to effectively administer a stand-alone workstation running the Sun Microsystems Solaris 2.X Operating System.
Topics presented include the basic tasks needed to evaluate a system's hardware configuration followed by the process of loading the appropriate software and the software configuration for the desired model.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Install Solaris 2.X as a stand-alone workstation
Discuss Sun's Client/Server environment and other system administration terms and concepts
Monitor access to the system
Customize startup files
Use AdminTool to add user accounts and groups
Use AdminTool to add and manage local and remote printers
Use utilities for process control, locating files, and automating maintenance tasks

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Any individual knowledgeable and experienced with UNIX who is interested in the basics of system administration for Solaris 2.X.

ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE
Completion of the Introduction to Solaris 2.X course, or equivalent knowledge
